A vase, made from a gourd top, that has been carved with spirals from top to bottom. The vase has wood-burned accents.
This vase, dark blue-green in color, was made from the top of a large hard-shell gourd. The color is due to the natural color of the gourd (yellow/tan), with blue dye on it. After dying the outside, I carved away the skin of the gourd, to expose the whitish meat of the gourd, leaving spiral stripes that match the throat of the vase. Each dark stripe has wood-burned markings, lines, and "stitching".
The vase is about 6 inches tall, and is flared at the top.
Please note that although this is a vase, it is mainly art, and may become damaged it water is put in it. Dried arrangements only, please.
